At VOICE Buffalo, we believe in the power of honest, transformative conversations to break the silence around issues that have long been hidden within the Black community. For decades, stigmas surrounding incarceration, drug use, and substance abuse have weighed heavily on our families and neighborhoods. Yet, we reject the idea that stigma must be a burden. Together, we can reshape the narrative—recognizing that stigma, when confronted and embraced, can become a catalyst for healing, empowerment, and collective strength.

About the Organization
At VOICE, civic engagement is at the heart of everything we do, driving our mission to empower communities and ensure every individual has a voice. Through our youth programming, we inspire young people to become active leaders and engaged citizens by providing mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities to make a difference. Our Street Certified program offers comprehensive support for formerly incarcerated individuals, helping them reintegrate into society through job readiness, personal development, and civic involvement. By fostering participation and advocacy, we’re building a more inclusive, engaged community for all.
